The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and well-qualified Head of Cricket to lead a thriving and successful sports department. The role offers the opportunity to oversee a large and ambitious cricket programme with a strong record of success and regional recognition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a comprehensive cricket programme with 36 teams and over 20 coaching staff.
- Deliver a high-quality sports curriculum and ensure the development of students across all age groups.
- Coordinate fixtures and tours, including matches against leading schools and international trips.
- Promote and develop links with Hampshire County Cricket Club and support student progression into county and professional cricket.
- Teach across the full range of sports, with a particular emphasis on cricket, rugby, hockey, and netball.
- Contribute to the school’s co-curricular activities and support the Saturday fixture programme.
- Ensure the effective use of on-site and off-site sports facilities to enhance student performance and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in leading a successful cricket programme at a high level.
- Strong coaching and leadership skills with the ability to manage a large team of coaches and players.
- Qualified teacher with the ability to teach across a range of sports, including cricket, rugby, hockey, and netball.
- Experience in delivering academic PE at GCSE and A Level is desirable.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.
Preferred
- Experience in working with county cricket clubs and supporting student pathways to professional cricket.
- Background in international touring and exposure to high-level cricket competition.
- Strong record of success in producing county and professional cricketers.
- Experience in managing large-scale sports fixtures and events.
