The Opportunity:

As an ESOL Teacher 16-19, you will deliver high-quality ESOL lessons to both international and home students, supporting their academic, social, and language development. You will also provide pastoral care and guidance, playing a key role in helping students settle into college life and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging ESOL lessons at a range of levels
• Adapt teaching materials to suit the needs and cultural backgrounds of learners
• Assess student progress and provide supportive, constructive feedback
• Promote inclusive, safe, and respectful learning environments
• Maintain accurate learner records and contribute to the development of ESOL programmes
• Provide pastoral care and guidance as a personal tutor for two tutor groups
• Support students in settling into college life and achieving their academic goals

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS)
• A subject-specific ESOL qualification (e.g. CELTA, Cert TESOL, DELTA)
• Experience teaching English as a Second or Other Language to a range of students and levels
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusive practice

Preferred

• Experience working with international students
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in programme development and curriculum design
