The Opportunity:
As a SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering tailored education to students with diverse needs. Your work will directly influence their learning journey and help them achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual and small group needs.
- Track and report student progress, ensuring achievements are celebrated and learning is continuously improved.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and structured classroom environment that promotes independence and growth.
- Lead in subject areas, coordinating teaching and assessment strategies across key stages.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies in collaboration with colleagues.
- Support students with challenging behaviour, guiding them towards self-regulation and emotional resilience.
- Collaborate with care staff and other departments to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
- Safeguard students and promote their overall wellbeing, safety, and personal development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Proactive, solution-focused approach to teaching and learning
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-professional team
- High expectations for yourself and your students
Preferred
- Experience working with autistic students and those with complex needs
- Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs)
- Experience in behaviour management and support strategies
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery for students with diverse needs
