The Opportunity:

As a Teacher - Further Education, you will play a vital role in delivering inclusive, high-quality education to learners with special educational needs, SEMH, and autism. You will help shape a supportive learning environment that fosters independence, confidence, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to the needs of learners with SEND and SEMH.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Plans, and Personal Learning Goals.
  • Use baseline assessments and progress tracking to monitor and improve learner outcomes.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support learner wellbeing in collaboration with pastoral teams.
  • Ensure safeguarding practices are followed and report concerns promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and contribute to quality improvement processes.
  • Collaborate with multi-professional teams, external agencies, and parents/carers.
  • Organise classroom resources and support exam and assessment coordination.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, including working with learners with SEND and/or SEMH.
  • Experience planning and delivering differentiated lessons and managing challenging behaviour.
  • Strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding requirements.
  • Relevant teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS preferred) and degree in Education or related subject.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.

Preferred

  • Experience with individual learner needs and effective communication skills.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and CPD.
  • Driving licence and willingness to travel between sites locally and nationally as required.
