The Opportunity:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with EHCPs in a growing SEND Resource Provision. This is an exciting time to join a school that is expanding its provision and committed to nurturing inclusive and ambitious learning environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with EHCPs in a SEND Resource Provision, focusing on learning and cognition needs
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality, individualized learning experiences
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons tailored to the needs of students with additional support requirements
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and curiosity
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and carers
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the SEND provision
  • Support the school’s mission to create a nurturing and ambitious learning community
  • Engage in team meetings and contribute to the development of the school’s SEND strategy

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience working as a teaching assistant, preferably within a SEND setting
  • Strong understanding of special educational needs and the ability to support students with EHCPs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to working in a collaborative and inclusive environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • Experience in a primary school setting
  • Familiarity with the curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Experience with pupils with learning and cognition needs
  • Passion for education and a commitment to student wellbeing
