The Opportunity:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with EHCPs in a growing SEND Resource Provision. This is an exciting time to join a school that is expanding its provision and committed to nurturing inclusive and ambitious learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with EHCPs in a SEND Resource Provision, focusing on learning and cognition needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver high-quality, individualized learning experiences
- Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons tailored to the needs of students with additional support requirements
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages confidence and curiosity
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and carers
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the SEND provision
- Support the school’s mission to create a nurturing and ambitious learning community
- Engage in team meetings and contribute to the development of the school’s SEND strategy
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience working as a teaching assistant, preferably within a SEND setting
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and the ability to support students with EHCPs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to working in a collaborative and inclusive environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Experience in a primary school setting
- Familiarity with the curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Experience with pupils with learning and cognition needs
- Passion for education and a commitment to student wellbeing
