The Opportunity:

As an HLTA, you will support pupils in the Senior Department by providing academic and executive functioning interventions. This role is essential in promoting student learning and well-being, with a strong focus on pastoral and safeguarding needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with academic interventions in English or Maths
  • Deliver targeted interventions to improve executive functioning
  • Work closely with the Head of Learning Development (SENCO) to plan and implement strategies
  • Monitor and reflect on the effectiveness of interventions
  • Promote the well-being and pastoral needs of students
  • Maintain accurate records and report progress regularly
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and support teams to ensure a cohesive approach to student development
  • Participate in safeguarding and child protection training as required

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in a teaching or support role
  • Ability to plan and deliver academic interventions
  • Strong understanding of executive functioning and its impact on learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
  • Willingness to undergo Disclosure and Barring Service checks

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Familiarity with co-educational settings
  • Experience in a school environment with a strong pastoral focus
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and learning support strategies
