As a SENDCO and College Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and guiding them through university and future pathways. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate provision for students with special educational needs.
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans and support strategies.
- Support teachers in delivering differentiated and inclusive classroom practices.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on SEN and inclusive education.
- Advise students on university pathways, admissions requirements, and application processes.
- Support students in preparing personal statements, essays, CVs, and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with the IBDP Coordinator, Heads of Section, and teaching staff to ensure cohesive academic and pastoral provision.
- Foster a positive, inclusive school culture and support student wellbeing.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Undergraduate degree in Education, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a SENCO, learning support specialist, or school counsellor.
- Strong knowledge of inclusive education practices and student wellbeing.
- Experience in university counselling or post-secondary guidance.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in English (C2 level).
Preferred
- Additional qualification in SEN, Educational Psychology, Counselling, or Careers Guidance.
- Experience in British and/or IB schools.
- Familiarity with global university admissions systems (UCAS, CommonApp, Spanish university system, etc.).
- Knowledge of Cambridge and IB assessment methods.
