The Opportunity:

As a Senior Assistant Headteacher, you will play a key role in supporting the Executive Headteacher and driving the school’s mission of excellence. This is a dynamic and impactful position for an experienced leader who is passionate about education and student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive Headteacher in the strategic leadership and management of the school.
  • Oversee the implementation of the school’s vision, values, and educational priorities.
  • Manage and develop staff across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate academic performance, student progress, and staff performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the St Thomas Catholic Academies Trust to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the school maintains a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
  • Represent the school at various meetings, events, and external engagements.
  • Support the development and delivery of the school’s safeguarding and welfare policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of curriculum development and educational best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
  • Background in Catholic education or faith-based schools.
  • Experience in school improvement or strategic planning initiatives.
  • Strong track record in raising standards and achieving educational outcomes.
