Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging geography lessons aligned with Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum requirements.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school by participating in departmental and school events.
• Support students in developing their understanding of geographical issues and their relevance to the world.
• Promote a positive learning environment through effective classroom management and inclusive teaching practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental teaching and learning strategies.
• Prepare students for assessments and exams with targeted and effective lesson planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified Teacher Status with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in secondary education.
• Strong knowledge of Key Stage 3 and 4 geography curriculum, assessment methods, and exam preparation.
• Proven ability to create engaging and inclusive lesson plans.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to supporting student learning and development.

Preferred

• Experience teaching Key Stage 5 geography.
• Familiarity with using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
• Experience with pastoral care or student support initiatives.
• Passion for geography and a commitment to inspiring young learners.
