The Opportunity:

A school is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Needs Teacher to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to shape specialist provision, deliver a personalised curriculum, and contribute to a collaborative, values-driven environment where every child can achieve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a highly personalised curriculum tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
  • Plan, teach and assess learning in line with pupils’ complex needs
  • Create a safe, inclusive and inspiring classroom environment
  • Support and model effective specialist practice
  • Work closely with therapists, families and external agencies
  • Contribute to self-evaluation and continuous school improvement
  • Promote an “I can do” culture and build positive relationships with pupils and families
  • Influence practice beyond the classroom and contribute to whole-school development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Substantial experience working with pupils with severe, profound and/or complex learning difficulties
  • Understanding of communication needs, sensory regulation and personalised curriculum design
  • Strong classroom practice and ability to build positive relationships with pupils and families
  • Commitment to high expectations for every child and a collaborative, reflective environment

Preferred

  • Experience with embedding an “I can do” culture
  • Experience in working with multi-agency professionals
  • Background in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Experience in school improvement and leadership
