The Opportunity:
A school is seeking an experienced and passionate Special Needs Teacher to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to shape specialist provision, deliver a personalised curriculum, and contribute to a collaborative, values-driven environment where every child can achieve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a highly personalised curriculum tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
- Plan, teach and assess learning in line with pupils’ complex needs
- Create a safe, inclusive and inspiring classroom environment
- Support and model effective specialist practice
- Work closely with therapists, families and external agencies
- Contribute to self-evaluation and continuous school improvement
- Promote an “I can do” culture and build positive relationships with pupils and families
- Influence practice beyond the classroom and contribute to whole-school development
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Substantial experience working with pupils with severe, profound and/or complex learning difficulties
- Understanding of communication needs, sensory regulation and personalised curriculum design
- Strong classroom practice and ability to build positive relationships with pupils and families
- Commitment to high expectations for every child and a collaborative, reflective environment
Preferred
- Experience with embedding an “I can do” culture
- Experience in working with multi-agency professionals
- Background in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Experience in school improvement and leadership
