The Opportunity:

As the Head of PE, you will lead and inspire the school’s physical education program, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among students. This role is ideal for an experienced educator passionate about sports, fitness, and student wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum of England.
  • Oversee extracurricular sports programs, ensuring they are inclusive, engaging, and aligned with the school’s mission.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate physical education with other subjects and promote holistic development.
  • Manage and mentor PE staff, providing professional development and support.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring alignment with the school’s academic and personal growth goals.
  • Promote a culture of physical activity and healthy living across the school community.
  • Coordinate with external sports organizations and events to enhance student opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards in PE and sports activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised educational degree, such as a Bachelor's in Education or an equivalent qualification.
  • A certified teaching qualification such as a PGCE or QTS with an Early Career Teaching Certificate.
  • Minimum four years of teaching experience, with a focus on physical education.
  • Exceptional subject knowledge in physical education and sports.
  • Experience teaching in an international school setting, preferably within the British curriculum.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
  • Leadership qualifications such as NPQSL or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching IGCSE, AS/A Level and International Baccalaureate (IB).
  • Proven track record in leading extracurricular sports programs.
  • Strong commitment to student wellbeing and character development.
