The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a dedicated Teacher of English to join its growing team. This role offers the chance to make a real impact on student achievement across all key stages, working within a supportive and collaborative department. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving continuous improvement and raising standards in English education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality English lessons across all key stages.
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Department and colleagues to improve student progress and attainment.
- Develop and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies.
- Support students in developing their literacy, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and whole-school initiatives.
- Contribute to the pastoral care of students where appropriate.
- Stay up to date with current educational trends and best practices in English teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Proven track record of raising attainment across all key stages.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a busy workload.
- Commitment to the school’s values and vision.
Preferred
- Experience with pastoral support or student welfare.
- Knowledge of teaching English as a second language.
- Experience in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply.
