Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Food and Nutrition for GCSE and BTEC qualifications.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student progress and achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student performance to ensure consistent improvement and attainment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the department’s vision and enhance the curriculum.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, trips, and events that enrich the student experience.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Work closely with a specialist technician and department lead to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Food and Nutrition.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to deliver GCSE and BTEC courses.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience working in a school environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching in a multicultural setting.
  • Previous experience in leading or supporting extracurricular activities.
  • Familiarity with using technology in the classroom.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
