The Opportunity:

As a Director of Mathematics, you will lead and inspire a team of educators to raise standards in mathematics across a large Trust. This role is pivotal in shaping the academic success of students and driving continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support mathematics leaders across the Trust to ensure consistent high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Analyze departmental performance annually and develop targeted improvement plans to meet ambitious targets.
  • Provide professional development, coaching, and support to teachers and subject leaders.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress across departments to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Implement effective strategies to raise achievement and drive rapid improvement in student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other Trust Directors to share best practices and innovation.
  • Ensure that all students receive an excellent quality of education in mathematics.
  • Stay evidence-informed and apply innovative solutions to immediate challenges.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, preferably in mathematics.
  • Strong track record in improving academic outcomes and raising standards.
  • Experience in developing and delivering professional development programs.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop targeted improvement strategies.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar organization.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and pedagogy.
  • Experience with data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with the Co-op Group values and ethos.
  • Experience in supporting teachers at all levels of ability.
