Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality music lessons to students across years 5 to 8.
  • Develop and implement engaging and inclusive music curriculum plans.
  • Support students in developing their musical skills and confidence.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall learning experience.
  • Participate in extracurricular music activities and events.
  • Monitor and assess student progress effectively.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.
  • Stay up to date with current teaching practices and developments in music education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching music to students aged 9-13.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory and practical skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and inclusive lesson plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with a range of musical instruments and genres.
  • Experience in leading extracurricular music groups or ensembles.
  • Familiarity with technology used in music education.
  • Experience in working within a school with a strong ethos of inclusion and personal development.
