The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Science to join our supportive and ambitious team. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students in biology, chemistry, or physics while contributing to a strong and established science department. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective science lessons across Key Stage 3 and specialise in either biology, chemistry, or physics at Key Stage 4.
  • Support the continued development of a robust and innovative science curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to departmental and whole-school initiatives.
  • Provide individualised support to students to enhance their understanding and achievement in science.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement and academic success.
  • Engage in extracurricular science activities and events to promote enthusiasm for the subject.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in science (biology, chemistry, or physics).
  • Experience in teaching science at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and student success.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with supporting trainee teachers or early career teachers.
  • Familiarity with inquiry-based learning and modern pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience in developing and delivering CPD sessions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support a dynamic and evolving school environment.
