The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our Learning Support Department and support students with specific learning needs. This is a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential in a caring and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with individual learning needs through one-to-one and small group assistance.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
- Provide a safe and encouraging environment for students to build confidence and independence.
- Assist in the preparation of resources and materials tailored to individual learning plans.
- Monitor and record student progress and communicate regularly with teaching staff.
- Collaborate with parents and carers to support student development and well-being.
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities.
- Uphold the school’s values and contribute to the positive and inclusive school culture.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
- Experience working with students with specific learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to working with students.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from teachers and senior staff.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and special educational needs.
- Experience with assistive technology or learning support software.
