The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Visiting Organ Teacher to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to inspire young musicians and contribute to the continued development of organ teaching at the school. The position is initially for one day a week, with potential for expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality organ lessons to a small group of students.
- Develop individualised teaching strategies tailored to each student's needs and abilities.
- Stay up to date with current trends, research, and developments in instrumental teaching.
- Encourage students to explore a wide range of musical repertoire.
- Support the school’s commitment to academic and musical excellence.
- Engage in professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with other members of the instrumental teaching team.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and lesson content.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching the organ at an advanced level.
- Strong knowledge of organ repertoire and teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Willingness to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Preferred
- Experience working within an independent school setting.
- Knowledge of the Church of England ethos and values.
- Familiarity with integrating technology into music teaching.
- Experience in developing and delivering individualised learning plans.
- Ability to contribute to the school’s wider music and academic programmes.
