The Opportunity:
As a Year Leader, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic, personal, and social development of students. This is a key leadership position within the school’s pastoral team, where you will help students reach their full potential and maintain high standards of behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a year group to ensure the academic, personal, and social development of all students.
- Work closely with the pastoral team to maintain high standards of behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to support student well-being and personal growth.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure consistent pastoral care and support across the school.
- Organise and lead events and activities that celebrate student achievement and foster a sense of community.
- Provide regular feedback and support to students, parents, and colleagues to ensure continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour, ensuring that all students are on track to succeed.
- Promote the school’s values of kindness, respect, and determination through daily interactions and initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a leadership or pastoral role within an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A commitment to the values of kindness, respect, and determination.
- Experience in supporting student well-being and behaviour management.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a year group or similar role.
- A background in education or youth work.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices in pastoral care.
- Experience in working with diverse student groups and supporting students with additional needs.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary at NJC Grade 8 Points 20-24.
- Term time only working pattern with 37 hours per week.
- Inset days included in the working schedule.
