Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-to-one A-Level History tuition to students with a focus on OCR syllabus topics
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each learner
• Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their academic progress
• Work closely with subject teachers to ensure alignment with curriculum goals
• Provide tuition both in school and via online platforms such as Microsoft Teams
• Maintain punctuality and adhere to scheduled teaching hours (15:00 - 19:00)
• Support students in achieving rapid improvements through targeted and structured teaching
• Participate in initial training and ongoing professional development provided by the school

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Minimum 2 hours of teaching per week
• Experience teaching OCR A-Level History, including the following topics:
  • Russia and its rulers (1855-1964)
  • Britain (1930-1997)
  • Italian unification (1789-1896)
• Ability to teach in school or online via Microsoft Teams
• Availability between 15:00 - 19:00

Preferred

• Qualified Teacher Status or experience in Higher or Further Education
• A track record of effective teaching
• Experience in tutoring
• Familiarity with electronic conferencing software

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly rate of £33.23 for those with Qualified Teacher Status
• Part-time contract with supply terms
• Pensionable under the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
• Includes holiday pay in the quoted rate
