Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging mathematics lessons to students aged 11–18.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and progression.
  • Support the development of the Mathematics department through collaboration and shared best practice.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and intervention where needed.
  • Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support the needs of all students, including those with SEND.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
  • Stay up to date with developments in mathematics education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school policies and statutory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Relevant degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Experience of teaching Mathematics at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE level).
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching A-level Mathematics.
  • Experience of working with students with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to departmental initiatives or training.
  • Experience of using digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning.
