Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging mathematics lessons to students aged 11–18.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote student achievement and progression.
- Support the development of the Mathematics department through collaboration and shared best practice.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and intervention where needed.
- Work closely with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support the needs of all students, including those with SEND.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
- Stay up to date with developments in mathematics education and incorporate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school policies and statutory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Relevant degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Experience of teaching Mathematics at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE level).
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos and values.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching A-level Mathematics.
- Experience of working with students with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
- Experience of leading or contributing to departmental initiatives or training.
- Experience of using digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning.
