The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A Level Politics lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date teaching resources and schemes of work.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback.
  • Support students through pastoral care and academic guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental performance and student outcomes.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and professional development.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the school’s enrichment programme.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and senior staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS and relevant subject knowledge in Politics.
  • Proven experience teaching A Level Politics or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and pastoral care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Leadership experience within a department or subject area.
  • Experience with using digital tools in the classroom.
  • Knowledge of current political issues and their relevance to the A Level syllabus.
