The Opportunity:

As an Art and Design Faculty Leader, you will lead the Design & Technology, Food and Nutrition, and Art departments, driving excellence in teaching and learning. This role offers a unique opportunity to inspire innovation, collaborate with colleagues, and shape the strategic development of a forward-thinking school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of teaching staff and specialist technicians across multiple departments.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching and learning, with a focus on strong student outcomes and a culture of creativity and ambition.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance the quality of education in Design & Technology, Food and Nutrition, and Art.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages professional development and innovation.
  • Model and uphold the school’s core values of Kindness, Courage, and Excellence in all aspects of teaching and leadership.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Faculty to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with school goals.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the school.
  • Promote and support extra-curricular activities that enhance student engagement and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a teacher of Design & Technology.
  • Strong leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably in a senior role.
  • Excellent subject knowledge in Art and Design, with a commitment to innovation and high-quality teaching.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and assessment practices.
  • Commitment to upholding the values of Kindness, Courage, and Excellence.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary Faculty or department.
  • Familiarity with Food and Nutrition and Art curricula.
  • Experience with strategic development and school improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across the school community.
  • Experience in leading and supporting extra-curricular activities.
