The Opportunity:

As an Academic Skills Administrator, you will support the SEND Department in managing assessments, Access Arrangements, and statutory processes in accordance with JCQ regulations. This role is essential in ensuring that students with additional needs can access learning and examinations fairly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate assessments, Access Arrangements, and statutory processes in line with JCQ regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the SENCo, teaching staff, the Exams Office, and external agencies.
  • Support students with additional needs in accessing learning and examinations effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the SEND Department and assist with the development of individual education plans.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, and staff.
  • Stay updated on changes to JCQ regulations and ensure all processes remain compliant.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the SEND provision through a proactive and flexible approach.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in an educational setting, preferably in a SEND or administrative role.
  • Knowledge of JCQ regulations and statutory processes.
  • Proficiency in using administrative software and systems.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing Access Arrangements or assessments.
  • Familiarity with virtual learning environments and digital tools.
  • Experience in supporting students with additional needs.
  • Understanding of inclusive education practices.
