Job Description

Summary:

Administrator role with a focus on Special Educational Needs and student support at a school in Bournemouth.

About the School:

The school is dedicated to supporting young men aged 16 to 19 with Asperger Syndrome, providing a structured and nurturing environment to help them develop life skills and prepare for adulthood.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Administrator to support the smooth operation of the school and assist in the management of student records and administrative tasks. This is a key role in ensuring that students receive the support they need to thrive in a specialist educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage Annual Reviews and 3-monthly student reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to collect and share relevant SEND information.
  • Administer reception duties, including answering calls and supporting the admin team.
  • Assist with fleet management and student bursary administration.
  • Support the Lead SENCO in the delivery of SEND-related tasks.
  • Oversee data entry into the Behaviour Watch system.
  • Distribute regular information to staff, parents, and Local Authorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Knowledge of Special Educational Needs – essential.
  • Experience of the Annual review process – essential.
  • Qualifications in Administration – essential.
  • Minimum Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English – essential.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office – essential.

Preferred

  • Experience of the SEND Framework – desirable.
  • Experience working in an Education setting – desirable.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary of £26,436.80 per annum.
  • 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum.
