The Opportunity:

As a Primary Class Teacher, you’ll support a small Key Stage 2 class of seven pupils aged 5–7, each with unique communication needs and learning styles. You’ll play a key role in fostering confidence, social interaction, and early literacy and numeracy skills through a play-based, engaging curriculum. This is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners in a supportive and creative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and engage a small Key Stage 2 class with diverse communication needs.
  • Deliver a play-based curriculum tailored to individual development and learning outcomes.
  • Implement the Read Write Inc. phonics programme and integrate Attention Autism into daily learning.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants to create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Design and deliver creative, inclusive learning experiences using specialist facilities such as therapy pools and sensory rooms.
  • Work closely with families to support student progress and well-being.
  • Promote social, emotional, and independence skills through a holistic curriculum approach.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in early years or primary education.
  • Experience working with students with additional needs, including autism.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, play-based learning activities.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and individualized support.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Read Write Inc. phonics programme or Attention Autism.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring teaching assistants.
  • Knowledge of sensory and therapeutic approaches to learning.
  • Experience in designing and delivering holistic, life skills-based curricula.
