The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Advanced Level Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated Inclusion Faculty, supporting students in the school’s care centre. This role involves working with a small group of students at risk of permanent exclusion, offering a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on young people’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in the care centre provision, focusing on inclusion and engagement
  • Assist in developing and delivering educational activities tailored to individual needs
  • Work flexibly and adaptively with students who may be disengaged from learning
  • Promote a safe and supportive environment in line with safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and other support teams
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their academic and personal goals
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with relevant staff
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A Level 2 qualification in English and Maths or equivalent
  • Experience working with secondary pupils (training will be provided)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience in inclusion or pastoral support roles
  • Experience with students at risk of exclusion
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
  • Experience in a school or educational setting
