The Opportunity:

The Head of Creative Arts Faculty will lead a dynamic team, driving excellence in music and creative arts education. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum strategies, inspire students, and contribute to a supportive and forward-thinking learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Creative Arts Faculty to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to raise achievement and outcomes in music and creative arts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular links and student engagement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Promote a culture of creativity, innovation, and high expectations within the faculty.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align faculty goals with the school’s strategic vision.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff within the Creative Arts Faculty.
  • Represent the faculty in school-wide meetings and external events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading a Creative Arts Faculty or similar department.
  • Strong track record in teaching and delivering high-quality music and creative arts education.
  • Demonstrable ability to raise student achievement and outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of respect, aspiration, and mutual support.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation within creative subjects.
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in music and creative arts education.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing teaching staff.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education and differentiated teaching strategies.
