Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Art and Photography department, ensuring a high-quality and engaging curriculum.
  • Develop and deliver innovative teaching strategies that support student achievement and creativity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Manage resources, equipment, and facilities to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Promote the arts within the school and wider community through events and exhibitions.
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering a culture of creativity, inclusivity, and excellence.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align departmental goals with school-wide priorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Art and Photography.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or college setting.
  • Strong organisational and evaluative skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to student well-being and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and media in Art and Photography.
  • Experience with safeguarding and pastoral care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
