The Opportunity:
As a Family Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in improving attendance through data analysis and direct family engagement. This is a vital position that supports vulnerable students and ensures every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the school’s attendance tracking systems.
- Analyse attendance data to identify persistent, severe, and declining attendance trends.
- Produce actionable reports for senior leaders and pastoral teams.
- Conduct home visits and engage with families to address attendance concerns.
- Build positive relationships with families and support them in developing action plans.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions.
- Work closely with safeguarding leads and pastoral teams to address attendance-related concerns.
- Coordinate fixed penalty notice processes and liaise with external agencies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience working with children, families, or in an educational setting.
- Experience in data management and report production.
- Experience conducting meetings and undertaking home visits.
- Knowledge of attendance regulations and safeguarding requirements.
Preferred
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Proficiency with MIS systems and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships.
