The Opportunity:

As a Family Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in improving attendance through data analysis and direct family engagement. This is a vital position that supports vulnerable students and ensures every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school’s attendance tracking systems.
  • Analyse attendance data to identify persistent, severe, and declining attendance trends.
  • Produce actionable reports for senior leaders and pastoral teams.
  • Conduct home visits and engage with families to address attendance concerns.
  • Build positive relationships with families and support them in developing action plans.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions.
  • Work closely with safeguarding leads and pastoral teams to address attendance-related concerns.
  • Coordinate fixed penalty notice processes and liaise with external agencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience working with children, families, or in an educational setting.
  • Experience in data management and report production.
  • Experience conducting meetings and undertaking home visits.
  • Knowledge of attendance regulations and safeguarding requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Proficiency with MIS systems and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build professional relationships.
