The Opportunity:

A Design Technology Teacher is needed to lead and inspire a dynamic and innovative curriculum across Key Stages 3–5. This role offers the chance to influence teaching and learning, support colleagues, and make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Design & Technology department
  • Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum with a focus on innovation and practical learning
  • Teach across a range of Design & Technology disciplines, including Product Design and Food Preparation & Nutrition
  • Support colleagues in developing their teaching practice and professional growth
  • Deliver engaging lessons that promote creativity, critical thinking, and achievement
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities that enhance student learning and engagement
  • Ensure consistent standards of assessment and quality assurance across the department
  • Stay up to date with current trends and developments in Design & Technology education

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Design & Technology
  • Ability to teach across Key Stages 3–5, including A Level
  • Strong subject knowledge in Product Design and Food Preparation & Nutrition
  • Experience in curriculum development and leadership
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning

Preferred

  • Specialism in Food Preparation & Nutrition
  • Experience in leading a department or subject area
  • Familiarity with AQA and WJEC exam boards
  • Passion for innovation and practical learning in Design & Technology
