The Opportunity:
A Design Technology Teacher is needed to lead and inspire a dynamic and innovative curriculum across Key Stages 3–5. This role offers the chance to influence teaching and learning, support colleagues, and make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Design & Technology department
- Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum with a focus on innovation and practical learning
- Teach across a range of Design & Technology disciplines, including Product Design and Food Preparation & Nutrition
- Support colleagues in developing their teaching practice and professional growth
- Deliver engaging lessons that promote creativity, critical thinking, and achievement
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities that enhance student learning and engagement
- Ensure consistent standards of assessment and quality assurance across the department
- Stay up to date with current trends and developments in Design & Technology education
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Design & Technology
- Ability to teach across Key Stages 3–5, including A Level
- Strong subject knowledge in Product Design and Food Preparation & Nutrition
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership
- Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning
Preferred
- Specialism in Food Preparation & Nutrition
- Experience in leading a department or subject area
- Familiarity with AQA and WJEC exam boards
- Passion for innovation and practical learning in Design & Technology
