The Opportunity:

As an Art Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Art Department by providing practical, technical, and administrative assistance. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for the arts and a desire to contribute to a dynamic and creative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Art Department with the preparation, maintenance, and organisation of art materials, equipment, and resources.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of art-related activities, including workshops and student projects.
  • Maintain a safe and well-ordered art environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with teachers and students to develop and implement creative learning experiences.
  • Provide technical support for art exhibitions, displays, and events.
  • Keep accurate records of art materials, equipment usage, and inventory.
  • Contribute to the development of new art programmes and initiatives.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in an art-related role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A broad range of art skills, including knowledge of various art media and techniques.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or college environment.
  • Willingness to develop new skills and expand subject knowledge.
  • Experience in producing and sharing creative work with students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support the needs of the department.
