The Opportunity:
As an Art Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Art Department by providing practical, technical, and administrative assistance. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for the arts and a desire to contribute to a dynamic and creative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Art Department with the preparation, maintenance, and organisation of art materials, equipment, and resources.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of art-related activities, including workshops and student projects.
- Maintain a safe and well-ordered art environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with teachers and students to develop and implement creative learning experiences.
- Provide technical support for art exhibitions, displays, and events.
- Keep accurate records of art materials, equipment usage, and inventory.
- Contribute to the development of new art programmes and initiatives.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling and reporting.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in an art-related role, preferably in an educational setting.
- A broad range of art skills, including knowledge of various art media and techniques.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or college environment.
- Willingness to develop new skills and expand subject knowledge.
- Experience in producing and sharing creative work with students.
- Flexibility and adaptability to support the needs of the department.
