The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Art Teacher to join a growing and dynamic department. This role offers the chance to contribute to a creative and inspiring learning environment with a strong emphasis on direct observation drawing and contemporary art practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality art lessons across Key Stages 2 to 13, focusing on direct observation drawing and modern/contemporary art.
• Develop and implement engaging and innovative art curricula aligned with the UK National Curriculum.
• Support students in developing their artistic skills and confidence through individual and group projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance cross-curricular learning and student engagement.
• Maintain and manage art facilities, including kiln and print-making equipment.
• Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students, encouraging creativity and personal growth.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and school events to promote art and creative expression.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the art department and its strategic goals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified Teacher Status.
• Bachelor’s degree in Art or related field with a PGCE or Master’s in Education.
• Minimum 2 years of post-qualification teaching experience.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 2 and 3 in a UK or renowned British curriculum international school.
• At least 25 years of age.

Preferred

• Strong portfolio of personal artistic work.
• Experience working in an all-through school setting.
• Familiarity with iGCSE and A-Level art curricula.
• Experience with contemporary art practices and digital media.
