The Opportunity:

As an Art Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the creative talents of students from Years 7 to 13. This is an exciting opportunity to join a department known for its excellence in art education and to contribute to a school that values creativity, critical thinking, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring art lessons across KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
  • Support students in developing their artistic skills, confidence, and critical thinking.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.
  • Work closely with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the co-curriculum by participating in extracurricular activities and events.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching in line with the AQA Art and Design specification.
  • Promote the school’s values of diversity, inclusion, and student well-being.
  • Support students in achieving outstanding exam results and preparing for future studies in art and design.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree and qualified teacher status.
  • Proven experience teaching art to students at KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for art.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leading independent school or similar educational setting.
  • Familiarity with the AQA Art and Design specification.
  • Experience with enrichment and extension activities in art.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
  • Experience with digital tools and resources for art education.
