The Opportunity:
As an Art Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the creative talents of students from Years 7 to 13. This is an exciting opportunity to join a department known for its excellence in art education and to contribute to a school that values creativity, critical thinking, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring art lessons across KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
- Support students in developing their artistic skills, confidence, and critical thinking.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.
- Work closely with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
- Contribute to the co-curriculum by participating in extracurricular activities and events.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching in line with the AQA Art and Design specification.
- Promote the school’s values of diversity, inclusion, and student well-being.
- Support students in achieving outstanding exam results and preparing for future studies in art and design.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree and qualified teacher status.
- Proven experience teaching art to students at KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for art.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student well-being and safeguarding.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in a leading independent school or similar educational setting.
- Familiarity with the AQA Art and Design specification.
- Experience with enrichment and extension activities in art.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
- Experience with digital tools and resources for art education.
