Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to the needs of junior school students.
  • Encourage a positive attitude towards physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support the holistic development of students.
  • Supervise students during physical activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curriculum by organizing and leading extracurricular sports and fitness activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in PE, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and fair play.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in PE education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching PE at the junior school level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Passion for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and implementing PE curricula.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and strategies.
  • Experience with a wide range of sports and physical activities.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in PE education.
  • Evidence of involvement in extracurricular sports programs.
