The Opportunity:
As a Music Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the musical talents of students from Years 7 to 13. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and creative department that values excellence, innovation, and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Music to students across KS3, GCSE, and A Level using the Edexcel specification.
- Deliver high-quality lessons that foster critical thinking, confidence, and a lifelong love of Music.
- Support the development of students through enrichment activities and co-curricular opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and ideas.
- Contribute to the school’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and student wellbeing.
- Participate in the wider school community, including events and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Stay up to date with current developments in Music education and pedagogy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Music or a related field.
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Music to students at KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Music.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
Preferred
- Experience working in an independent or selective school setting.
- Experience with co-curricular and extra-curricular Music activities.
- Familiarity with the Edexcel specification for Music.
- A track record of achieving outstanding examination results.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
