The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging art curriculum that inspires creativity and critical thinking.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art across the curriculum and support cross-disciplinary learning.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student work in a constructive and supportive manner.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the school’s ongoing commitment to innovation in teaching.
  • Maintain and manage art resources, equipment, and facilities to ensure a safe and inspiring learning space.
  • Support the school’s co-curricular programme by leading art clubs, exhibitions, and creative events.
  • Work closely with parents and the wider school community to promote the value of art and creativity in education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in art education.
  • Strong understanding of art curriculum and pedagogy for primary and secondary age groups.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology in art education.
  • Background in a values-driven, creative school environment.
  • Experience with co-curricular and extracurricular art activities.
  • Familiarity with the Apple Distinguished School framework or similar educational initiatives.
