The Opportunity:

We are seeking an inspiring Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic department that delivers high-quality education to students from Years 7 to 13. This role offers the chance to shape young minds and contribute to a department renowned for its excellence and innovative teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Design and Technology lessons across KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
  • Support the development of students’ critical thinking, creativity, and practical skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and best practice.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in the subject and integrate them into teaching.
  • Encourage student participation in enrichment activities and co-curricular events.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Work closely with the school community to uphold values of diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of the new A Level Design and Technology course.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in Design and Technology or a related subject, preferably with a PGCE.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Design and Technology.
  • Experience teaching Design and Technology to students across KS3, GCSE, and A Level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and safeguarding.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with AQA specifications at GCSE and A Level.
  • Background in engineering, product design, or construction.
  • Experience in a school setting with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
  • Involvement in co-curricular activities or student leadership programs.
