The Opportunity:

The Art Technician role is a vital part of a thriving and well-resourced Art Department. You will support students and teachers in fostering creativity and practical skills across a range of artistic disciplines. This is an opportunity to contribute to a department undergoing an exciting transition and expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in developing their artistic skills and completing practical lessons.
  • Prepare and maintain art equipment, materials, and resources for use in lessons.
  • Order and manage supplies to ensure the Art Department is well-stocked.
  • Assist with the general maintenance and organization of the Art rooms.
  • Carry out administrative tasks related to the Art Department.
  • Collaborate with the Art Department and external partners to enhance provision and student engagement.
  • Support the delivery of extra-curricular activities and workshops.
  • Contribute to the development of the Art Department during its transition to A Level provision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant subject knowledge and experience in an art or design-related field.
  • Strong organizational and practical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school Art Department or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with a range of art materials and techniques.
  • Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate or A Level curriculum.
  • Experience with collaborative working across multiple schools or institutions.
