The Opportunity:
As a Graduate Sports Assistant - Rugby, you will support the school's rugby program and contribute to the overall success of the sports department. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a high-achieving, nationally recognized environment. You will work closely with students and staff to enhance sporting performance and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management and development of rugby teams across all year groups.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of House sport programs and inter-school fixtures.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to students in rugby and other sports.
- Collaborate with the PE and sports coaching team to deliver a high-quality sporting experience.
- Be available for training sessions, fixtures, and events during term time, including evenings and weekends.
- Maintain and update sports records and student progress.
- Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture within the school.
- Support the delivery of alternative sports programs in response to student interest.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong background and experience in rugby, including knowledge of coaching techniques and match strategies.
- Enthusiasm for working with young people and a commitment to student development.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during term time.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s values and mission.
Preferred
- Experience in coaching or mentoring students in a school or sports environment.
- Knowledge of other sports, such as hockey, cricket, or athletics.
- Previous experience in a sports assistant or similar role.
- Relevant qualifications in sports science, physical education, or coaching.
