The Opportunity:

As a Graduate Sports Assistant - Rugby, you will support the school's rugby program and contribute to the overall success of the sports department. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a high-achieving, nationally recognized environment. You will work closely with students and staff to enhance sporting performance and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management and development of rugby teams across all year groups.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of House sport programs and inter-school fixtures.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to students in rugby and other sports.
  • Collaborate with the PE and sports coaching team to deliver a high-quality sporting experience.
  • Be available for training sessions, fixtures, and events during term time, including evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain and update sports records and student progress.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture within the school.
  • Support the delivery of alternative sports programs in response to student interest.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong background and experience in rugby, including knowledge of coaching techniques and match strategies.
  • Enthusiasm for working with young people and a commitment to student development.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during term time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and mission.

Preferred

  • Experience in coaching or mentoring students in a school or sports environment.
  • Knowledge of other sports, such as hockey, cricket, or athletics.
  • Previous experience in a sports assistant or similar role.
  • Relevant qualifications in sports science, physical education, or coaching.
