The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated History and Politics Teacher to join our department and contribute to the academic and personal development of students. This role offers the opportunity to shape young minds and inspire a love of learning in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and learning policies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching programs.
- Set clear learning targets and monitor student progress to ensure academic growth and achievement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student learning and development.
- Organize and lead enrichment activities that enhance students’ learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of student assessments and progress in line with school policies.
- Support the pastoral care of students, including form group responsibilities and PSHE delivery.
- Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in History and Politics education.
- Strong knowledge of the Edexcel A Level Politics specification and GCSE curriculum.
- Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons to a range of abilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Commitment to the school’s values and policies, including behaviour and pastoral care.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching A Level Politics and developing course materials.
- Familiarity with UK government and political ideas curriculum.
- Experience with international relations and twentieth-century history.
- Ability to lead and inspire students through innovative teaching methods.
