Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality, individualized teaching plans tailored to the needs of students with autism.
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and social skills development.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities that support student engagement and learning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.
- Work closely with the pastoral team to ensure the holistic development of students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in working with students with autism spectrum disorder.
- Strong understanding of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
- Experience with behaviour management strategies for students with autism.
- Experience with assistive technology and communication tools used in special needs education.
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum and its application in special needs settings.
