The Opportunity:
As a Music Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping students' musical abilities and passion for the arts. You will lead after-school music clubs, support whole-school events, and deliver engaging lessons that align with the school’s mission of excellence in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support, develop, and lead after-school music enrichment clubs such as Orchestra, Choir, and Student Band
- Support whole-school events including Prize Evening, AGFS Cabaret, School Musical, Black History Month Concert, and the Christmas Concert
- Deliver KS4 Music lessons offering 1:1 and small group tuition as directed by the Head of Music
- Provide some teaching of KS3 Music for the right candidate
- Collaborate with peripatetic teachers to ensure scholars receive bespoke support outside of their curriculum
- Manage behaviour effectively to create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment
- Work collaboratively with school and network colleagues to build successful, high-performing teams
- Support a tutor group as directed by the form tutor
- Participate in relevant meetings and CPD to enhance teaching practice
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in music education
- Ability to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that align with the school’s academic and behavioural standards
- Experience working with students across a range of ages and abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to the school’s core values of Ambition, Growth, Fellowship, and Scholarship
Preferred
- Experience in leading extracurricular music groups
- Familiarity with traditional academic curriculum and assessment methods
- Experience with curriculum design and formative assessment
- Background in school leadership or team collaboration
