The Opportunity:
As Assistant Director of Music, you will help shape a dynamic and inclusive music curriculum, supporting students in discovering their musical potential. This role offers the chance to lead ensembles, contribute to a thriving co-curricular programme, and work within a collaborative and forward-thinking department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the strategic and day-to-day leadership of the Music Department.
- Teach Music across Key Stages 3, GCSE, and A Level.
- Lead ensembles and contribute to the co-curricular programme.
- Deliver high-quality, inclusive, and innovative music education.
- Collaborate with the Director of Music to develop a forward-thinking curriculum.
- Inspire students through performance and teaching excellence.
- Foster a culture of high aspiration and musical curiosity.
- Support the development of young instrumentalists and ensembles.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience teaching Music across Key Stages 3, GCSE, and A Level.
- Strong performance skills on one or more instruments.
- Commitment to inclusive and innovative teaching practices.
- Experience in developing young instrumentalists and ensembles.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
- Leadership experience in a music department or similar setting.
- Experience with co-curricular music activities and events.
