The Opportunity:

A Learning Support Teacher (SEN) is sought to join a dynamic team and deliver high-quality support to students in Years 7–11. This role is pivotal in enhancing inclusive learning practices and ensuring every student reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student progress.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and specialist support to improve student outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed reports to stakeholders.
  • Promote inclusive practices and contribute to the development of school-wide support strategies.
  • Provide guidance and training to teaching staff on SEN best practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with school policies and legal requirements.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in special educational needs support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in special educational needs support.
  • Strong understanding of SEND frameworks and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Proven ability to create and deliver individualized learning plans.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to student well-being and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students in Years 7–11 or equivalent age groups.
  • Familiarity with the use of assistive technology in education.
  • Experience in a co-educational setting.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment for students with additional needs.
