The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Assistant English Curriculum Leader to join our dedicated team and support the development of our English curriculum. This role is crucial in ensuring our students achieve their potential and that our teaching programme remains innovative and impactful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Curriculum Leader in developing and refining the English curriculum to ensure it remains engaging and effective.
- Teach and motivate students across Key Stages 3 and 4, including the delivery of the Forensic Reading curriculum.
- Participate in and contribute to the co-curricular programme to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Provide guidance and support to early-career teachers to help them develop their practice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning outcomes across the school.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and make recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to the professional development of staff through training and mentorship opportunities.
- Ensure that all teaching practices align with the school’s values and educational goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stages 3 and 4 English.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality teaching and learning outcomes.
- Experience in curriculum development and leadership within a school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student success and professional development.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or supporting curriculum development projects.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methodologies and assessment strategies.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
- Background in co-curricular programme development or delivery.
- Experience working within an academy trust or multi-academy trust environment.
