The Opportunity:

As an Assistant Exams Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of examination processes. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and passionate about supporting student success through effective exams administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and administration of internal and external examinations
  • Ensure accurate recording and management of exam entries and results
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation related to exams
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and external exam boards
  • Assist in the preparation of exam timetables and room allocations
  • Support the implementation of exam policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support during exam periods
  • Collaborate with the exams team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience in an educational setting, preferably in exams administration
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
  • Familiarity with examination systems and procedures

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or academy environment
  • Knowledge of external exam boards such as AQA, OCR, or Edexcel
  • Understanding of the role of an Exams Officer within a school
  • Experience with data management systems
