The Opportunity:

As an Internal Exclusion Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will manage exclusion processes, support student behavior, and ensure policies are followed consistently. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee internal exclusion processes in line with school and trust policies.
  • Support students and staff through effective behavior management and pastoral care.
  • Monitor and report on exclusion data, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and pastoral teams to develop and implement behavior improvement strategies.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on managing student behavior and exclusion procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to exclusions and interventions.
  • Collaborate with external agencies where necessary to support student welfare and reintegration.
  • Contribute to the development of school policies and procedures related to behavior and inclusion.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in managing student behavior and exclusion processes in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of school policies, legal requirements, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external agencies.
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational structure.
  • Knowledge of behavior management strategies and restorative practices.
  • Experience in supporting students with complex needs or challenging behavior.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
