The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Art and Design Technician to provide essential support to teaching staff and students. This role is ideal for someone with a creative background and practical skills in Art and Design, who is passionate about education and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain a wide range of equipment and machinery used in Art and Design, including laser cutters, 3D printers, and sewing machines.
- Assist with technical demonstrations and provide materials for lessons.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed within the department.
- Support budgeting and resource management within the department.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance the learning experience for students.
- Maintain and update ICT and CAD/CAM systems.
- Liaise with suppliers and manage procurement of materials.
- Monitor and maintain quality assurance and control standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong creative background in Art and Design.
- Experience using Excel and Word.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills to interact with students, staff, and suppliers.
- Practical skills in resistant materials such as wood, metal, and plastic.
- Ability to manage resources within a budget.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience with CAD/CAM software.
- Knowledge of electronic testing equipment.
- Previous experience in an educational setting.
