The Opportunity:

As Assistant Head of Progress and Data (Secondary), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic success of students across Years 5–13. This is a strategic leadership position focused on driving data-informed decision-making to enhance teaching, learning, and overall student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of pupil progress and attainment data.
  • Ensure robust assessment systems are in place across Years 5–13.
  • Oversee baseline assessments, internal assessments, standardised testing, and external examination data.
  • Support middle leaders in developing effective departmental tracking systems.
  • Identify trends, patterns, strengths, and underperformance in student progress.
  • Lead intervention strategies for individuals, groups, and cohorts.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability across phases and departments.
  • Contribute to performance management processes through data-informed evaluation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status (UK or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Significant experience teaching within the British curriculum.
  • Proven leadership experience in data, assessment, or progress roles.
  • High-level data literacy and analytical skills.
  • Experience of using data to improve pupil outcomes.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior or extended leadership role.
  • Experience with inspection and accreditation frameworks.
  • Experience of developing digital data systems and dashboards.
