The Opportunity:
As Assistant Head of Progress and Data (Secondary), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic success of students across Years 5–13. This is a strategic leadership position focused on driving data-informed decision-making to enhance teaching, learning, and overall student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of pupil progress and attainment data.
- Ensure robust assessment systems are in place across Years 5–13.
- Oversee baseline assessments, internal assessments, standardised testing, and external examination data.
- Support middle leaders in developing effective departmental tracking systems.
- Identify trends, patterns, strengths, and underperformance in student progress.
- Lead intervention strategies for individuals, groups, and cohorts.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability across phases and departments.
- Contribute to performance management processes through data-informed evaluation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher status (UK or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Significant experience teaching within the British curriculum.
- Proven leadership experience in data, assessment, or progress roles.
- High-level data literacy and analytical skills.
- Experience of using data to improve pupil outcomes.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior or extended leadership role.
- Experience with inspection and accreditation frameworks.
- Experience of developing digital data systems and dashboards.
